Memorial Library would like to extend thanks to all students who participated in our survey. Megan Swanson was the lucky winner of a Fitbit Flex, which was provided by the Friends of the Library.
We hope that in addition to raising our awareness of students’ research needs, that the survey also raised students’ awareness of the Research Help services available to them. As we head into the second half of the semester, we would like to encourage students to seek help when needed. Librarians can help you: narrow your research topic, develop search strategies, identify and access resources, cite sources, and learn to use citation managers and other research tools.
Students can request one-on-one Research Help appointments with a librarian that specializes in their field of study. Students can also drop by the Research Help Desk in the main lobby of Memorial Library, contact a librarian by phone (call 607-753-2590 or text 607-341-7883), or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Chat is also available in any library resource with the green “Click to Ask a Librarian” button.
Mary Cope, General Falconer, accompanied by her Red-tailed Hawks, Kestrel, and Owls, will talk to us about birds of prey and her experience learning falconry.
- Date: Wednesday, Oct 7th
- Time: 7pm – 8:30pm
- Place: SUNY Cortland’s Memorial Library, 2nd floor
This event is free and open to the public
This is the final event related to “Renaissance Science, Magic and Medicine of Harry Potter’s World”, a travelling exhibit on display at the library which was developed and produced by the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health. This event was generously supported by SUNY Cortland Memorial Library and the Campus Artist and Lecture Series (CALS).
If you have any questions, please contact Anita Kuiken at ext. 4983 or email@example.com.
Memorial Library likes your input! We would like students’ feedback about their research habits and needs, as well as their opinions on library services. This is a great opportunity to make yourself heard and even create change. Students completing the entire survey and providing contact info will be entered into a drawing to win a Fitbit!
The survey will be available at bit.ly/1OeuWqY from 9/29 until 10/16. Look for an email from the library with the link, as well. We look forward to hearing from you!
