Thuidium delicatulum, (Hedw.) Schimp.
Thuidium delicatulum is a pleurocarpous moss, which can be found on soil, rocks, and logs. The moss is normally 3 times pinnate but may be 2 times pinnate. The plant is barley altered when wet opposed to dry. The leaves are generally dull and ovate to lanceolate in shape. One of the most common mosses seen at Hoxie Gorge. leaves are unpleated with a costa that extends to the tip/near the tip.
Paraphyllia are noticeable on the stem and some larger branches.
Compared to:
Thuidium recognitum– No more then twice pinnate, of smaller stature, branch leaves differ from stem leaves, which are falcate at their tips.
