Anomodon attenuatus

Anomodon attenuatus, (Hedw.) Hüb.

Anomodon attenuatus is easiest to identify when dry. When dry the leaves are folded close to the stem and branches, which result in a rope like appearance. The leaves are ovate with an acuminate slightly serrated apex.  Some branches taper to small tips with leaves smaller towards the tips, while other branches the leaves will stay the same size, this is the key identification feature. When wet the leaves will spread out from the branches.
