Dicranum montanum Hedw.

Dicranum montanum is often only 1 cm high. It can often be found at the base of trees or on decaying logs. The leaves are slightly curled outwards when wet, when dry the leaves curl even more and slightly twist inwards. The capsules are  generally inclined and elliptical.
