Hypnum imponens Hedw.

Hypnum imponens can be found growing in moist habitats on decaying logs, rocks, and soil. The leaves are falcate and do not change much when wet or dry. The moss is pinnate  with the stems and branches having a reddish color to them.  The branches also look like a braided ropes. the capsules are inclined with a conical operculum.
