Hygrohypnum molle

Hygrohypnum molle (Hedw.) Loeske

Hygrohypnum molle prefers wet to very moist habitats. The branches and stems are complanate. The leaves are broadly ovate and are cupped. When wet they are wide spreading, when dry the leaves become contorted.

Leaves have a double costa that rarely reaches the middle of the leaf and has slightly inflated alar cells which have thicker walls.
