Hypnum pallescens (Hedw.) P. Beauv.
Hypnum pallescens can generally be found on wood substrates such as the base of tress or decaying logs. leaves are generally no longer than 1 mm and falcate but do not look as well organized on the branches as do they do on other Hypnum species. The moss is pinnate with densely leafed branches. The capsules are generally inclined and have a conical lid.
