Polytrichum juniperinum Hedw.
Polytrichum juniperinum generally grows on the soil and lacks fuzz on the stem. The leaves are thick due to the fact their leaf margins are folded over. The apex of the leaves are brownish in color. The margins of the leaves are smooth.
When looking at a cross section it is noticeable that the lamellae are several cells deep with the upper most cell being cone shaped.
