Homomallium adnatum

Homomallium adnatum (Hedw.) Broth.

Homomallium adnatum can be found spreading across rocks.  The leaves are ovate at the base and acuminate into a slender tip. The capsules are generally curved to about a parallel position with the substrate (Image 3). When the calyptra (Image 5 is of the calyptra coming off) is absent the operculum is semi-conical (Image 4).  The protruding point of the operculum is off centered.
