The Study Place Project is a new project designed to help first-year college students adjust to academic life at SUNY Cortland or any student looking to improve their academic success. The focus of this project is to teach students how to make a plan and get the most out of their time spent doing work whether it be homework or studying. Our aim is to make sure that you have the ability to self-determine, self-evaluate, and self-correct your own study goals as needed.
Study Skills Training
Studying in college usually requires students to develop new approaches to learning. Therefore, TSP2 includes a brief, online course in effective study skills. This course has been developed by a team of highly successful SUNY Cortland students, and covers topics that often challenge first-year students (e.g. time management, study strategies, organization, note taking, and test preparation). Each weekly lesson can be completed in just a few minutes, during the first half of the semester, so that you are better prepared for your first midterm exams!
