The trip down to Pennsylvania for a Sunday doubleheader back on April 14 showcased just how dominant they have been on this run, outscoring the Rosemont Ravens 42-10 in just the two games.

The first game was far from close, as the Ravens failed to put up a single run in the matchup, ultimately getting blown out 22-0. Cortland started this scoring barrage right away, as they scored 13 of their 22 runs in the first inning.

The second game had some more excitement than the first game but still was a double-digit win for the Red Dragons as they won 20-10. A big problem Rosemont had throughout these two games was their abundance of errors, as they matched their run total in the two games with errors of 10.

Luis Misla, Greg Mays, and Nick Jessen each recorded over 4 strikeouts across the two games, shutting down any possibility of the Ravens making a comeback.

“The team overall has been producing,” says Nick Jessen, a junior who pitches for the team, “Every player has been doing their job when it presents itself… Overall the team is feeling really good and we’re having fun.”

The last time the Red Dragons lost a game was back on March 16 during their west coast road trip where they were defeated by the Chapman Panthers 10-3. It has now been over a month of winning for Cortland, a streak they look to continue into this weekend as they take on SUNYAC rival Oswego State Lakers in a 3-game series starting with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 20.

“Our starting pitchers have been showing out and our bullpen guys finish the job,” Jessen went on to say, “We are ready to compete and to keep playing like we’ve been playing.”

With the SUNYAC’s coming up in less than a month, the Red Dragons are undefeated in conference play, an impressive feat for being in solid company with the other teams.
