History was made at Cortland’s victorious senior meet against Fredonia which included many outstanding swims and dives by the seniors.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior Lance meeson made it a senior night to remember by breaking a record that has been held since 1984. Lance was proud of his accomplishment however; it was the team’s reaction and celebration that made it memorable for him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0\u201cThis sport to me has never been about the score, it\u2019s been about doing something I love with people I love even more,” said Meeson. \u201cWhat made it special was the people around me. It was the tears in people eyes and the fulfillment others got when they saw me succeed that made that record special.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cortland started off the meet with head coach Brian Tobin recognizing the 10 seniors, with a short but sentimental speech for each individual. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of the seniors had outstanding swims for their senior meet. On the men’s side Senior, Hunter Bernhardt, completed the 1,650-yard freestyle with a best time of 17:01.81 and got first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:51.49. Sam Zani won the 200-yard freestyle coming in with a quick time of 1:47.72.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the women’s side Senior, Mackenzie Dickman, placed first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:28.93. Emily Lantry earned first place in the 100-yard freestyle coming in with a quick 56.91.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cortland had an all-around successful senior meet, celebrating the seniors and outstanding performances from all. Cortland was victorious at the end of the meet with a score of 195-43 on the men’s side and 182-85 on the women’s side. With that being the team’s last dual meet of the season, they will prepare for the next and last step of their season, the SUNYAC championships, with high hopes from their head coach Brian Tobin.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
