For a senior class, it signals the end of something far bigger\u2014years of routines, relationships, and moments that don\u2019t always show up in a box score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Isaiah, Gaige, and Kendall, the conclusion of their careers with the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons has brought reflection not just on championships, but on everything that came in between\u2014early morning practices, long bus rides, and the small moments that built the foundation of a winning program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of separate conversations, the same set of questions shaped each reflection: how they feel about their careers, what they might change, and what advice they leave behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How do you feel about your career?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe knew if staying composed, everything would fall into place. Experience in those moments made all the difference,\u201d Isaiah said. \u201cLooking back, it\u2019s really about how much growth happened from the beginning until now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That growth wasn\u2019t always immediate. Early adjustments to the speed of the college game eventually turned into confidence in big moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Kendall, the reflection centered less on performance and more on connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe basketball part matters, but the people are what stays with you,\u201d Kendall said. \u201cThe biggest thing is just being part of a group that built something together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gaige described the experience as a process that unfolded over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cConfidence changed everything,\u201d Gaige said. \u201cThere were moments early where things felt fast, and by senior year everything slowed down. That\u2019s something you don\u2019t really understand until you go through it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Is there anything you would change?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking back always brings a different perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cProbably trusting my voice earlier,\u201d Isaiah said. \u201cLeadership takes time to figure out, and that\u2019s something that grows every year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kendall pointed to something many athletes realize too late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou always think there\u2019s more time,\u201d Kendall said. \u201cYou don\u2019t realize how important the small moments are until they\u2019re gone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gaige shared a similar reflection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI would have just enjoyed everything a little more while it was happening,\u201d Gaige said. \u201cThe season moves fast, and it\u2019s easy to get caught up in what\u2019s next instead of what\u2019s happening right now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What memory stands out the most?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The answers shifted from reflection to vivid moments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCutting down the net after winning the conference championship again,\u201d Isaiah said. \u201cThat\u2019s something you picture, but actually being there with your teammates makes it different.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kendall\u2019s memory didn\u2019t come from the court itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBeing in the locker room after big wins,\u201d Kendall said. \u201cMusic playing, everyone laughing\u2014that\u2019s the stuff that sticks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gaige pointed to a moment most fans never see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOne of the bus rides back after a win,\u201d Gaige said. \u201cEveryone\u2019s tired, joking around, just enjoying being around each other.
