Every player in the top 10 of 2026 high school recruits has picked a school besides one, Tyran Stokes. Typically, high schoolers announce their commitment by the beginning or end of the basketball season, but Tyran still sits at the top of the class without a school signed.

Tyran Stokes is a 6’7 senior who has seen many schools throughout his high school career. For his freshmen year he enrolled in Prolific Prep, a prestigious school which has featured many five-star recruits and NBA players such as Houston Rockets, Jalen Green. He would stay here for his sophomore year and be joined by another top player in his class, AJ Dybantsa who just finished his freshmen season at BYU after reclassing and is a future top pick in the NBA draft.

For his junior season, he would transfer to Notre Dame high school in Sherman Oaks, California. He would average 21 points and help them reach the finals in their conference. Tyran would also take talents to the football field at Sherman Oaks, but many of his stats do not compare to what he is doing on the basketball court.

Tyran would make another move to end his high school career and end up in Rainier Beach, Seattle, Washington. Many people found this confusing because it is a public school in a random part of Seattle, but some didn’t see what Tyran saw. NBA legend Jamal Crawford resides as a coach there and would add veteran ship to an already talented Tyran. Jamal’s son, JJ Crawford also plays at Rainier Beach coming into his freshmen year in the top of his class as well. These two would cause issues for opponents and would end up winning their state championship in Seattle.

Tyran would be featured in many articles and teams. He is a gold medalist and played a tournament with the famous RWE AAU team. He stays busy, playing with multiple travel teams and being featured in team USA underage range teams.

Despite all of this success and an offer from just about every college in the country, Tyran still has not committed anywhere, but has announced his final three schools, those being Kentucky, Oregon, and Kansas. Many have factored out Oregon due to the posts and things Tyran has said in the media about the strength in both Kansas and Kentucky.

Many believe that Tyran will go to Kentucky due to him growing up there and his tour. As said before, Tyran grew up in the state of Kentucky, and it would make sense for him to have it in one of his top schools as many athletes do for their college career. Also, Tyran recently visited Lexington and the fans and students showed out, welcoming him in posts and even hanging flags from their houses that say, “Welcome home Tyran.”

Many also believe that Tyran could possibly go to Kansas due to his ties there and the actions that he took. First, current commit, Taylen Kinney is good friends with Tyran and have been seen sitting together courtside at a Kansas game. Also, Tyran seemed to have a good visit at Kansas and even had a photoshoot with his dog. Also, Tyran has been seen reposting things about Kansas coach Bill Self planning to return next year.

There is no doubt that any team in college basketball would love to feature this talented freshman next year and only time will tell where he will truly call home.

What is going on?
