{"id":10192,"date":"2026-04-06T15:20:48","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T19:20:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.cortland.edu\/dragon-chronicle\/?p=10192"},"modified":"2026-04-06T15:20:49","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T19:20:49","slug":"a-simple-spring-reset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.cortland.edu\/dragon-chronicle\/2026\/04\/06\/a-simple-spring-reset\/","title":{"rendered":"A Simple Spring Reset"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>There&#8217;s always a point in the semester where you just wake up\u201a and all of a sudden you realize things have kind of spiraled a little\u2024 Your sleep schedule makes no sense\u201a your room is somehow getting unorganized\u201a and you keep saying you&#8217;ll &#8220;get it together tomorrow&#8221;\u2024 And then suddenly it\u2019s April, and the end of the semester is very close. That usually means you need some kind of reset. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your room is honestly the biggest giveaway of how you are doing\u2024 When everything\u2019s on the floor, your desk might be covered in stuff, and you can\u2019t find anything, it just makes everything feel more stressful. While you don&#8217;t need to do a full deep clean\u201a just throwing things away\u201a making your bed\u201a or clearing one surface can make it feel less cluttered\u2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not everything has to be a full-life reset\u2024 You may not need a new routine\u201a a new mindset\u201a and a perfectly planned schedule all at once\u2024 Sometimes it&#8217;s literally just going to bed earlier one night\u2024 Small resets still count\u2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another thing that helps is trying to get back into some sort of routine\u201a even if it&#8217;s not perfect\u2024 Getting up at a reasonable hour, going to class, and doing at least one productive thing in your day makes everything feel a little more under control. I think the idea is less that you&#8217;re productive and more that you don&#8217;t feel completely all over the place\u2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spring weather kind of forces you out of that winter slump\u201a even if you don&#8217;t realize it\u2024 Just sitting outside for a little\u201a walking without rushing\u201a or even not being in your room all day helps\u2024 It&#8217;s such a small change\u201a but it breaks up that stuck feeling\u2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Part of the reset is realizing that you&#8217;re not going to fix everything before the end of the semester\u201a and that not every class is going to go perfectly\u201a and you&#8217;re not going to catch up overnight\u2024 I think it&#8217;s just a matter of doing what you can and not stressing\u2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s also a good time to check in with yourself a little\u2024 If you&#8217;ve been feeling burnt out\u201a unmotivated\u201a or just off\u201a that&#8217;s pretty normal right now\u2024 Everyone&#8217;s kind of in the same place\u201a even if it doesn&#8217;t look like it\u2024\u00a0In a world where every day is the same\u201a I find little things like this make one day easier\u2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The end of the semester always sneaks up on you\u201a and it can be crazy stressful\u2024 There are more discussions about what the future after graduation will hold.
