After years of waiting, Euphoria has finally released a second trailer for its highly anticipated third season, and fans have a lot to say. The last season aired back in 2022, so it has been quite some time since viewers have checked in with Rue and the rest of the chaotic, complicated cast. While the long gap initially built excitement, it also seems like some of that momentum has faded. Many fans have grown up since the show’s peak, and the graphic, intense nature of the series is not hitting the same way it once did for everyone.
That being said, the new trailer proves that Euphoria is not slowing down anytime soon. If anything, it looks more chaotic than ever. The show has always thrived on fast-paced, emotionally overwhelming storytelling, and this preview reflects exactly that. There is a lot happening, almost too much, and it is clear this season will not be holding back.
One of the biggest surprises is the apparent dynamic shift between characters. Maddie and Cassie, whose friendship completely unraveled in season two, seem to be interacting much more than expected. It even looks like Maddie could be helping Cassie with her new online persona, which adds an unexpected layer to their already complicated relationship. At the same time, Maddie and Rue appear to be closer than ever, a pairing fans have wanted to see more of since they have barely shared screen time in past seasons.
The trailer also teases what looks like a wedding between Nate and Cassie, though it does not exactly scream “happy ending.” Cassie looks uneasy, and her mom appears visibly concerned, hinting that this relationship may not last. There are quick shots that suggest Cassie could be on the verge of leaving Nate, which would not be surprising given everything that has happened between them.
Another emotional layer to this upcoming season is the presence of Eric Dane, who will appear in the show following his recent passing. Seeing him on screen in such a heavy and chaotic storyline will likely feel bittersweet for many viewers. His character’s return, especially in what appears to be a tense reunion with Jules, adds another level of intrigue, but also a sense of sadness that will be hard to ignore.
Beyond relationships, the trailer hints at even bigger conflicts. Nate appears to have a new and potentially dangerous enemy, suggesting that the consequences of his past actions may finally catch up to him. Meanwhile, Rue is once again caught up in trouble involving drugs and the law, though this storyline feels less compelling to some viewers compared to the interpersonal drama that defines the show.
Overall, reactions to the trailer have been mixed. Many social media influencers and fans have expressed uncertainty about how to feel, pointing out that while the show still looks visually striking and dramatic, it may not resonate the same way it once did. So while I may not be completely sure how I feel about this new season yet, one thing is certain: Euphoria Sundays are back, and that alone makes it worth watching.
