Country Music is Having a Massive Moment This February

Alyssa Rich · February 23, 2026

If your TikTok or your Spotify suggested feels like one long country playlist lately, you aren’t losing your mind. We are officially in the middle of a country music takeover, and February 2026 is proving to be the month where the genre finally kicked the “old school” stereotypes to the curb. Between a loving new drop from Luke Combs and two rising stars absolutely shattering Billboard records, country is growing its popularity.

The “New Nashville” sound is leaning less into polished pop-country and more into real stories and that authentic, raw feel we’ve all been craving. Here are the three artists who have been dominating the country music world this month.

Luke Combs: Keeping it Simple with “Be By You”

Luke Combs is basically the king of being a “regular guy” with a once-in-a-generation voice. His latest hit, “Be By You”, dropped on February 13, perfect timing for Valentine’s Day, and it’s already the go-to song for everyone’s romantic Instagram stories.

The song is all about the simple stuff, just wanting to be with the person you love. While a lot of songs right now are loud, fast, and over-produced, Be By You is a slow, soulful track that feels like a deep breath. It’s a bit of a rare move for Luke because he didn’t actually write this one himself. He mentioned in an interview that the vibe and the melody just “stuck in his head” the second he heard it, and he knew he had to record it to do the story justice. Between his new single and the news that he and his wife, Nicole, just welcomed their third baby boy, Luke, is having a pretty incredible month. It’s all building huge hype for his massive 22-track album, “The Way I Am”, coming out March 20.

Megan Moroney: Big Confidence on Cloud 9
Megan Moroney just changed the game with her third album, Cloud 9, which dropped on February 20. If you haven’t seen the lyric videos all over your feed yet, you will soon.

Megan built her name on “sad girl” heartbreak anthems like, Tennessee Orange and Wonder, but Cloud 9 shows a much more confident side of her. She’s still vulnerable, but she’s also having way more fun. She even got Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves to jump on her album for some features. Megan says this project is like a “screenshot” of her life over the last year, dealing with the craziness of fame while trying to stay grounded. Girls are obsessed because her lyrics feel like she’s reading our group chats out loud. Whether she’s calling out “loser behavior” or singing about the dizzy feeling of a new crush, she makes you feel seen and like your best friend.

Ella Langley: Making Literal History

If Ella Langley isn’t on your radar yet, she’s about to be your new obsession! This month, she didn’t just climb the charts; she broke them.

On February 9, Ella made history as the first woman in country music to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and Country Airplay charts all at the exact same time. That “triple crown” is a huge deal, and she did it with “Choosin Texas,” a song she co-wrote with Miranda Lambert.

The real talk now is her new title track, “Dandelion,” which was released on January 30 and has already become a massive standalone hit. While “Choosin’ Texas” is the high-energy anthem, “Dandelion” is the song that is really connecting fans on a deeper level. It uses the image of a dandelion, a flower that can grow through the cracks in the concrete as a symbol of resilience. Ella has described the record as a love letter to her roots and survival.

The track has been soaring up the streaming charts because it captures that wilder side of life that isn’t always pretty but is authentically real. Fans are already flooding her comments with how much they relate to the “mason jar and old blue jeans” vibe of the song. With “Dandelion” acting as the perfect bridge to her upcoming sophomore album (dropping April 10), and her new soulful single “Be Her” also making waves, Ella is proving she isn’t just a one-hit-wonder; she’s the new face of the genre. Between her and Megan, it’s safe to say the girls are absolutely running the show in music this month.
