School Work slump?

Tyler Wavercak · February 16, 2026

Within the first couple of weeks of the semester do you feel like you’re stuck in a slump? Are you not wanting to get work done or do anything.

Here are a few spots in and around campus that can help you out.

First with off-campus spots, because it’s never good to be stuck on campus all the time BRU 64 is located right down the road from campus on the corner of Main St. and W Court St. BRU 64 offers delicious coffee and food, with a calm environment to put your headphones in and get work done. With a 4.6-star review you are bound for a great experience.

Cortland Free Library is also a great alternative for an off-campus option. It is located downtown with a traditional quiet library feel.

On-campus locations are even closer and more geared for students getting work done.

Corey Union offers various quiet, comfortable spots especially if you’re looking for a spot in the afternoon.

Commuter Lounge (Cornish Hall, room 1221) with free computers. Wi-Fi, a kitchen area makes it very convenient for those tough projects and assignments.

There are also many comfortable chairs and study places in Bowers Hall, Moffett center, and Sperry Center.

Even when being in a slump it’s important to get out of the dorms and find the best spot that suits what you’re learning. SUNY Cortland has just the spots for that, you just have to look around and don’t be afraid to ask any staff or students.
