Alyssa Rich · October 21, 2025

The biggest football game of the year is almost here, and SUNY Cortland students are soon getting ready to head to Ithaca for the 2025 Cortaca Jug.

On Saturday, November 15, at noon, the Cortland Red Dragons will face off against the Ithaca Bombers in one of the most iconic Division III football rivalries in the country. Often called “the biggest little game in the nation,” Cortaca is more than just a football game – it’s a tradition, a celebration, and a moment that defines the college experience for many students.

This year’s game will be played at Ithaca College, and SUNY Cortland students have a limited-time opportunity to secure their tickets.

Ticket Sales and Transportation

Tickets for SUNY Cortland students, faculty, staff, and CAS employees will go on sale starting Sunday, October 26, through Tuesday, October 28, in Corey Union Room 406. Tickets are $15, and cash payment only will be accepted. Students must bring their Cortland ID to purchase a ticket, and a limit of one ticket per person applies during the initial sale window.

For students who need transportation, round-trip bus tickets to and from the game are available for $10 (also cash only) and can be purchased at the same time as the game tickets. Buses will depart from Corey Union at 11 a.m. on game day and return immediately following the game. Seats are limited, and bus tickets are not guaranteed, so students are encouraged to buy early.

Seats on the bus are limited, and availability is not guaranteed. Therefore, if you plan to ride the bus, it is a good idea to purchase your tickets as early as possible. All seating at the game is general admission, and you’ll need both your ticket and student ID to get into the stadium. Please note that lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced, so be sure to keep them safe!

A Tradition Worth Experiencing

Cortaca is more than just a football game. It’s a full-campus experience that brings students, alumni, and fans together in powerful ways. Even if football isn’t usually your thing, the atmosphere at Cortaca is something truly special. The energy is unmatched. The stands are usually packed with the colors red and white, while the school spirit is unmistakable.

This game is a rivalry that’s spanned throughout decades, and each year it grows stronger. Whether you are watching the game with your roommates, family, or teammates, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, the Cortaca Jug creates unforgettable moments that define the college experience for all SUNY Cortland students.
