The Most Anticipated Movies Coming Out in the Next Few Months

This year has given us some of the best movies of all time. From blockbuster hits to horror stories and even sweet rom coms, the list of movies already released in 2025 is unforgettable. As for the rest of the year, we should be expecting more exciting movies before we enter 2026. 

Regretting You

Release date: October 24, 2025 (in theaters)

Director: Josh Boone

Starring: Allison Williams, Dave Franco, McKenna Grace, Mason Thames

Regretting You is based on Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name, which follows the story of Morgan Grant and her teenage daughter, Clara, as they try to rediscover each other after the tragic death of Morgan’s husband and Clara’s father, Chris. After this devastating accident revealed a shocking betrayal, the mother and daughter explore what is left as they confront secrets and redefine love. Fans of Colleen Hoover’s work can expect the same romance and drama as seen in her earlier film adaptations.

Frankenstein

Release date: November 7, 2025 (Netflix)

Director: Guillermo del Toro

Starring: Jacob Elorid, Mia Goth, Oscar Isaac

There have been quite a few adaptations of Mary Shelley’s classic novel Frankenstein. However, this new movie is brought to us by Academy Award winner Guillermo del Toro. In his version, we will follow Victor Frankenstein as he tries bringing the dead back to life in the form of a horrifying monster. Oscar Isaac plays Victor and Jacob Elordi is Frankenstein’s monster in this new twist of the gothic tale. As del Toro is considered to be the master of horror fiction, he is the perfect fit to tell this story. 

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t

Release date: November 14, 2025 (in theaters)

Director: Ruben Fleischer

Starring: Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman

If you have not already seen the first two movies of the Now You See Me franchise, you might want to catch up before this one releases. Reprising their roles as thieving magicians are Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco as they pull of massive heists and try to make a run for it. This time around, the audience can expect to see the crew as they try to steal the world’s largest diamond. 

Wicked: For Good

Release date: November 21, 2025 (in Theaters)

Director: Jon M. Chu

Starring: Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum

Following shortly after the 2024 release of Wicked: Part One, the conclusion of the iconic musical’s film adaptation is on the way. Titled Wicked: For Good, after the movie’s most awaited song, Part Two will follow the Elphaba as she is on the run. Fans will see Elphaba as she tries to navigate her identity while facing Glinda. As producer Marc Platt said that splitting the film into two parts would allow for the inclusion of the entire soundtrack, everyone can expect more songs and new twists in the final half.

Zootopia 2

Release date: November 26, 2025 (in theaters)

Director: Jared Bush, Byron Howard

Starring: Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin, Ke Huy Quan, Fortune Feimster

Almost 10 years later, the sequel of Zootopia is on the way. This film will follow detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they find themselves after a mysterious reptile who arrived in Zootopia and turns the city upside down. They are forced to go undercover to unseen parts of town to crack the case, which tests their new partnership like never before. If you want to experience the nostalgia of seeing Zootopia in theaters again, you will not want to miss seeing this movie.

Avatar: Fire and Ash

Release date: December 19, 2025 (in theaters)

Director: James Cameron

Starring: Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, David Thewlis, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Michelle Yeoh, Oona Chaplin

It has certainly been a long time since an Avatar movie has come out, but the wait will be worth it. James Cameron’s fantasy world of Pandora will be back, but with new biomes and clans. In the third film, we will meet the volcano-dwelling “Ash People” that are like the Na’vi, but not the nice ones we have seen before. Most of the major stars are returning, along with new cast members like Michelle Yeor, who plays human scientist Dr. Karina Moguel, and Oona Chaplin, who plays villain Na’vi Varang. We may not have been given much detail about this film, but we do know it will be a stunning visual.

Marty Supreme

Release date: December 25, 2025 (in theaters)

Director: Josh Safdie

Starring: Timothée Chalamet, Odessa A’zion, Gwyneth Paltrow

Timothée Chalamet stars as Marty Mauser, a young table tennis player, in Josh Safdie’s new sports drama. This character in the film is a based on the real-life table tennis player Marty Reisman, who was a five-time bronze medalist at the World Table Tennis Championships. This film is a homage to his life as he tried to pursuit a dream no one respected and faced endless tribulations throughout his life. 

This year was one of the best years for movies that we have ever seen. It was full of exciting sequels, adaptations of iconic stories, and numerous new releases. As if 2025 did not give us enough of a reason to go to the theater, 2026 will bring even more outstanding films. So grab a friend and get your popcorn ready because you are not going to want to miss out on the last few movies of the year.
