Dancing with the Stars Brings TikTok to the Ballroom

Abigail Neber · October 10, 2025

The ballroom got a viral twist as celebrities and pros danced to chart-topping hits, recreated internet famous moves, and brought TikTok trends to life on the dance floor. From flashy choreography to fan-favorite moments, TikTok Night proved that DWTS knows how to keep up with the trends while still serving ballroom glamour.

Opening Number

This week’s opening number was to “Apple” By Charli XCX and was choreographed by by last weeks eliminated pros, Jenna Johnson and Britt Stewart. the troupe was accompanied by season 32 champion, and known TikTok star Charli D’Amilio came back to the ballroom and showcased viral moves made famous by Kelley Heyer.

The troupe also did a few interlude dances, including Charli D’Amilio, to Megan Thee Stallion’s song “Savage” choreographed by Jenna Johnson and Britt Stewart . As well as a performance to “No Broke Boys” by Disco Lines choreographed by Rylee Arnold and Ezra Sosa

Performances

Carrie ann Inaba , Derek Hough, And Bruno Tonioli

Scores will be shown in order of the judges above

Jenn Affleck and Jan

Dancing a cha cha to “she’s a Bad Mama Jama” by Carl Carlton.

Scores: 7, 6, 6

My score: 6 at best

My take: Honestly, there was not much to the dance. The best part was the beginning costume (shown to the left) with the fake belly paying homage to the tiktok Jen posted to the same song right after giving birth to her most recent child which had gone viral.

Lauren Jauregui and Brandon Armstrong

Dancing a Cha Cha to “Work From Home” By Fifth Harmony

Scores: 6, 6, 6

My score: i am letting myself use half points because i make the rules, 5.5.

My Take: It was cool to see her dance to her own song and use some of her choreography from the music video. However Lauren never looks like she is enjoying herself while dancing. It is understandable that she takes it seriously, but her face is so serious that it takes away from her dance.

Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov

Dancing a Foxtrot to “Manchild” By Sabrina Carpenter

Scores: 7, 7, 7

My score: 7

My Take: her dancing to Sabrina’s song as she is an ex costar was so meaningful to her and she thrived during this dance. She looked beautiful but I’ve seen more exiting foxtrots, Bruno was so kind to her, I think she looked so elegant. I agree with Carrianne that Danielle is in the middle of the road and is slowly making her way up to the top of the leaderboard.

Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa

Dancing a Tango to “Anxiety” by Doechii

Scores: 8, 8, 8

My score: 8

My Take: wow, Jordan and Ezra clearly weren’t happy about last week’s scores, so they channeled that anger and really danced with their whole hearts this week. This was a big improvement. Very powerful and to quote Derek “You turned anxiety into an artistry”. well deserved scores and they can only go up from here.

Dylan Efron and Daniella karagach

dancing a foxtrot to “Yukon” by Justin Beiber

Scores: 7, 8, 8

My score: 7

My Take: Carrieanne said that Dylan was really learning the technique and that will get him far in the competition. However, as a viewer, I think that he is trying and he will thrive more in slower paced songs when it is easier to take your time and remember the steps.

Elaine Hendrix and Alen Bersten

Dancing a tango to “Gnarly” by Katseye

Scores: 7, 7, 7

My score: 6.5/7

My Take: she is a strong dancer but she said she wanted to float durring her intro and i feel like she was lightly treading not QUITE floating. I think she is doing really well and will continue to get better, but i don’t think she has what it takes, from what i’ve seen so far, to make it to the finale.

Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas

Dancing a Samba to “Shake Ya Ass” by Mystikal

Scores: 8, 8, 8

My score: 8

My Take: She did so good and the visual effects, making it look like it was on tiktok was really cool. However, her being allowed to do some of those dance moves on live television is beyond me.

Scott hoying

Danding jazz to “Like Jennie” by JENNIE

Scores: 8, 7, 7

My score: 7

My Take: I personally don’t know how that is considered jazz but scott definitely seemed more confident this week and they were both so in synch and didn’t skip a beat. Scott was definitely in his element and thrived durring this dance.

Hilaria Baldwin and Gleb Savchenko

Dancing a Samba to “Shake It To The Max (Fly)” by Moliy

Scores: 7, 8, 7

My score: MAX 6

My Take: Again, i don’t like them i think they need to go home ASAP. I don’t know how they let an ex professional ballroom dancer on the show… All the judges said that they thought it was so good but i think it was just okay. Derek over scored her.

Andy Richter and Emma Slater

dancing a Foxtrot to Northern Attitude by Noah Kahan and Hozier

Scores: 6, 6, 6

My score: 7

My Take: Literal tears. Durring the intro video before his dance he talked about how one of his proudest moments was when he was safe from the elimination last week. Him taking the camera during ‘Hozier’s yell’ was so cute and we need to protect this man at all costs.

Robert Irwin and Whitney Carson

Dancing a Salsa to “million Dollar Baby” by Tommy Richman

Scores: 8, 7, 7

My score: 8 at the very least.

My Take: Wow. I think the judges were trying to get him on the technicality of the salsa being smooth. But i think that the dance was Whitney’s style of choreography and they did so well. They were under scored.

Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy

Dancing a Quickstep to Pop Muzik by Robin Scott

Scores: 8, 7, 8

My score: 8

My Take:
Classic quickstep. I loved that they really incorporated the TikTok dance. Alix has been doing so good and i hope she goes far because she is showing all the heart of wanting to dance and do well.

Eliminations and Final Rankings

This week Lauren went home. After she got eliminated she was allowed to tell viewers how she was feeling and she said she was feeling “pissed” and rightfully so.

This caused a lot of controversy on social media platforms, commenting on Dancing With The Stars’ official instagram saying that she was ‘robbed’ and didn’t deserve to go home.

What’s in Store for Next Week?

Next week is Disney week! The stars and pros will once again go head to head with performances inspired by Disney’s classic movies along with the songs.
