As the temperature rises, outdoor food options on and off campus are beginning to open for the start of the summer season. Cortland’s own food truck, The Red Dragon Wagon is back until the end of the semester. The opening of Footie’s Freez and The Frosty Caboose also have students excited for the season.
The Red Dragon Wagon
The Red Dragon Wagon opened on March 31 providing students with another dining option. Parked outside of Neubig Hall Mondays through Thursdays, the truck has a fixed weekly menu starting on Monday.
Monday offers mac and cheese with the options including traditional, Buffalo, lobster and chicken broccoli with bacon.
Tuesday is street tacos with choices between carne asada, chicken tinga, Cuban carnitas, or quinoa Mexicali with toppings to choose from.

Lastly, Thursdays is walking tacos with options between Doritos or original Tostitos and hicken or beef and a choice of toppings.
John Donovan the director of dining for Cortland Auxiliary Services said this schedule is not set in stone. In fact, they are looking to try new options over the summer, to possibly offer to students in the fall.
“For the last couple of years this schedule seemed to stick,” said Donovan, “This summer we are trying out some new ideas for a new rotation.”
Donovan said the truck gets the most attention during the fall semester, and that walking tacos, is a clear student favorite.
