Since the start of the 2025 NFL league year on March 12th teams across the league have signed their respective free agents and veterans across the league have found their new homes. Just this week the New York Giants signed two veteran quarterbacks that will likely take them out of the race to draft a franchise quarterback in this year’s draft.
Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston will headline the Giants offense this season making New York’s quarterback room one of the most interesting rooms to watch this season. Unfortunately, this will not be an article about why the New York Giants will be the most interesting 4-13 team in the league. We will be discussing the top needs of all 32 NFL teams leading up to the draft which will take place in one month!
This draft is one of the first drafts where every NFL team owns their own first round draft pick; obviously, trades may take place as draft day approaches but as of now the Draft order is set! Starting with the Tennessee Titans, their biggest team needs are Quarterback, Edge Rusher, and Wide receiver. Obviously, they own the First overall pick so they can go in any direction they want.
The Cleveland Browns are back in the top 5 this year and they also need a QB and Edge rusher and an Offensive Lineman.
I talked about the Giants earlier in this piece and here they are with the 3rd pick. Obviously, their QB room is solidified for this year, but they could use strength on the offensive and defensive line along with Corner back and Linebacker. I would not be surprised if they chose a quarterback in the later rounds.
With the 4th pick the New England Patriots are now on the clock, they will look for O-line, D-line and running back. Rounding out the top 5 we have the Jacksonville Jaguars; they need a bunch of help on the defensive side, Weapons for Trevor Lawrence and help on the Offensive Line.
The Raiders are a team that needs a lot of help on offense and have long been tied to Shedeur Sanders but with the signing of Sam Darnold you must wonder if they will draft a Running back, Wide Receiver or Corner instead.
The New York Jets on the other hand claim to have, “Found their guy” in Justin Fields. I would not be surprised if they are intrigued by a first-round quarterback or decide to draft another Offensive Lineman, tight end, or safety.
Carolina seems dedicated to Bryce Young, so they could look for a young wide receiver but there are a lot of needs for the Panthers Secondary and Defensive line which means they can go in any direction.
The Saints are a team that could also be looking for a new quarterback but with Derek Carr still under contract, they could go cornerback or offensive or defensive line with this pick.
Chicago should look Offensive tackle here to pair with their new and improved offensive line to protect QB Caleb Williams.
The 49ers should look for a pass rusher with a similar skillset to Nick Bosa, but Offensive line help will still be needed with Trent Williams turning 37 years old this season.
Dallas is a questionable team, their only weapon as of now is Ceedee Lamb, they could draft another wide receiver or running back; Ashton Jeanty may be a name to look out for if he falls.
Miami needs a lineman on both sides of the ball and a replacement for Safety, Jevon Holland. Indianapolis now has two quarterbacks to protect but in a stacked tight end class they may also go in that direction.
Atlanta has the 15th pick and they need help in both the defensive secondary and the D-line so I would expect them to make a defensive pick at least in the first round.
The Arizona Cardinals should go Offense here whether that be O-line or WR to hopefully get Kyler Murray and the Cardinals back to the playoffs.
Cincinatti already has their high-powered offense but lack luster defensive play is what kept them out of the playoffs last season. Any position on defense could be in play for the Bengals at 17.
Seattle should go offense here especially WR with the departures of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockette.
Tampa Bay’s Draft should be primarily defense as their top needs are all Defensive positions.
The Denver Broncos own pick 20, they should look to claim an offensive weapon to pair with Bo Nix and the aging Cortland Sutton. This could be a team looking to trade up to find a running back or wide receiver.
Pittsburgh has not found a replacement quarterback since Ben Rothlisberger retired. I see them trading up to find their future quarterback or drafting a wide receiver to pair with their eventual QB.
The Chargers will likely look to fill one of their offensive skill positions or a piece on the defensive line.
Green Bay will also likely draft their eventual replacement for Jaire Alexander at Corner or look for a weapon for QB Jordan Love.
Minesota will look to fill some holes on the defense and possibly find their replacement for 36-year-old Harrison Smith.
The Houston Texans will Likely go offense here since trading away Laremy Tunsil they will need protection for CJ Stroud but may also be looking for a receiver to line up alongside Nico Collins. I can also see the LA Rams finding a tackle or defensive back, but their biggest need is an off the ball linebacker to command that defense.
Baltimore was a team that looked like they had no flaws last season but they lost some key players in the defensive secondary and line so they should look to fill those holes.
Detroit will try to find another vicious pass rusher to pair with Aidan Hutchinson who is coming off an injury.
The Commanders and Jayden Daniels were the surprise of the NFL season last year with their deep run in the playoffs. I believe they look for improvements on the offensive line or another weapon for Jayden Daniels.
Buffalo will look for help in the secondary but do not be surprised if they take a wide receiver at pick 30.
Kansas City will look to improve the offensive line based off what happened in this year’s Superbowl but the need for a safety and wide receiver will still be there.
Now on to the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. There is no extreme need that stands out leading into this year’s draft but help on the defensive side could be where they look to expand their depth.
We must understand that it is still early. We are exactly a month away from the draft and teams are bound to sign more free agents and make trades leading up to when they are on the clock. Top names like Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Ashton Jeanty and Travis Hunter will soon be able to prove why they are the top names in draft. Where will they go in the draft? You can find out on April 24th-26th on NFL Network!
