We all love a good sale, the thought of saving a few extra dollars is truly the best when you’ve done nothing but break the bank all week. However the worst part is that sales sneak up on you unless you have some insider information on when it’s around the corner, chances are you’ve already spent $50 when you could’ve spent $10. Steam has a silent schedule, and when it comes to sales, one user has to figure it out themselves. But make no mistake, there’s ALWAYS a sale on Steam. Fun fact; developers make a profit on every game they sell regardless of the initial price, so sales are good for business, so no matter the day or time, chances are that games are going on sale.
This week of 2/17, Steam has a plethora of sales users can choose from. From 90% off every Batman title, Sea of Thieves, and all DLC going from $60 to $20, and all Warhammer games going down significantly, there’s sure to be something everyone can enjoy. Unfortunately, there is still no sale on Hello Kitty Island Adventure… but as a five-year games reviewer, I’m here to tell you what I think is worth your money this week, there’s no doubt something will catch your eye.
The Batman Sale: Celebrate Bruce Wayne’s Birthday

I couldn’t be more thankful for this sale as a major DC fan. But I’ll admit, some of the live-action movies are lacking, full of controversies, and downright boring… but when a team gets together to make a gorgeous animated movie or video game, I’m there. You can have my wallet, WB Games.
Bruce Wayne was born on February 19th making him a Pieces, which is cool! In celebration, WB Games has decided to put a sale on every Batman game on Steam. Not just the ones he stars in, but also make appearances in. This means, that if you’ve been waiting for a chance to play the Arkham Collection featuring the Dark Knight, Injustice 1 and 2, Gotham Knights, and Suicide Squad (because let’s face it, no one was buying those full price), and LEGO Batman… Now’s your chance! I highly recommend Injustice for the story but the Arkham series for the action.
Sea of Thieves: 2024 Edition

If you’re looking for a high-seas adventure, Sea of Thieves is perfect but mostly enjoyable with friends. If you find yourself lacking in that department, don’t worry! The game has hubs where you can find new landlubbers or seasoned captains to join your crew.
Sea of Thieves by Rare Ltd, published by Xbox Game Studios, is an open-world multiplayer pirate sandbox where players sail the seas, hunt for treasure, battle skeletons, and engage in naval combat with other crews. The game features different ships depending on what kind of game you plan on playing. Bigger ships for groups of three to four or sloops for soloing and duos. Players take on quests that vary from treasure hunting, to combat, and trade missions. Unfortunately for some, PvP (player vs. player) is a big part of the experience, as rival crews can (and honestly will) attack and steal precious booty from your ship. However, if PvP isn’t for you, you can turn on the Safer Seas option for a painless experience. The game is constantly updating for bug fixes or new content and events help keep the game alive, including huge crossovers such as the Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration. I hadn’t touched the game in months prior but I had to come back to set sail with the legendary Jack Sparrow.
Sea of Thieves is fun, incredible, and honestly worth the money if you have the time. But if you don’t at the moment and know this is an adventure you want to have, get it while it’s $14.
Total War Warhammer: Franchise Sale

Dear fans of fantasy… It’s all on sale. Everything. The whole Total War series is over $300 including DLC, but with this sale, you’re spending just under $150. A miracle for fans of the card game, and for those who want to give the series a try. I was fortunate enough to receive the entire collection for free but I hadn’t touched it until now. There are so many factions to choose from making gameplay exciting and of course challenging if you don’t know what you’re going into.
The Total War Warhammer trilogy by Creative Assembly, published by SEGA, lets you command massive armies into a battle of epic proportions. And for fans of playing games with friends, there are multiplayer modes where you can fight against or alongside other players in campaigns or battles, but you can also enjoy the game solo! You can lead hordes of orcs, elven legions, raise your undead armies, or demons from lower earth, each with distinct playstyles into battle which you strategize.
If you’re a fan of strategy, I recommend the Total War series in a heartbeat. But if you’re more into the adventure, role-playing, or story aspect of fantasy games, Baldur’s Gate 3 will probably go on sale again soon.
The Steam Midweek sale is only up for a limited time, which means you don’t have long to snag these deals. If you have any free time before midterms come creeping up… I’d take advantage of the offers now! I had a lot of fun playing most of these games but honestly, I had the most fun with the Batman games.
