A faceoff during the match between Rink Rascals and Ice Spice
For people that like lopsided, high scoring matches, this was a day for you. Two matches were played on that day.
The first match that was played was DFCWs and No Regretzkys. This match was over before it even started, with six goals being scored in the first half on the DFCWs side, with every player on the team looking like they would be ready to give the Winnipeg Jets a run for their money. No Regretzkys on the other hand were trying to get the defense and offense going, but DFCWs were right there to stop them from making big plays by stopping most pass and shot attempts by No Regretzkys.
The second half began, and the beast had awakened for No Regretzkys. They were getting possession with the ball more thanks to better defense and scored three goals. This was not enough, for DFCWs wound up scoring four more goals in the second half, ending the contest 10 to 3.
The next matches would see the Rink Rascals hitting the ice against Ice Spice. Ice Spice fired up the first half by scoring three goals thanks to Chris Shearing, a junior, while the Rank Rascals didn’t score any goals.
In the second half, it was more of the same. Although the Rink Rascals did pick up the workload by putting on better defense and scoring the goal, it was not enough to put away Ice Spice who scored three goals. One of those goals was scored by Shearing, topping off an impressive performance.
“It was great to get the first win of the season,” said Shearing about the match.
On the Rink Rascals side, Cynthia Borschel, a sophomore, understood why they lost.
“We are a new team, we are still learning how to get together, just being more efficient when working together,” Borschel said.

This match was high scoring, as in the first half, What the Puck took a commanding lead, scoring 5 goals while Puck Off had no answers for them. The second half had more action for both teams scored 2 goals each, ending the match What the Puck smothering Puck Off 7 to 2.
What the Puck advances to 1 win and 0 losses with a goal differential of 5, while Puck Off drops to 0 wins and 2 losses with a goal differential of -7.
The final match saw One Pound Fish going back on the ice to face the Bunker Beavers. The only goal was scored by the Bunker Beavers in the late minutes of the 2nd half.
One Pound Fish advanced to 2 wins and 1 loss with a goal differential of 1 and the Bunker Beavers advanced to 2 wins and 0 losses with a goal differential of 3.
