As the spring semester begins, students are preparing for the next chapter of their lives. For seniors, this is the final semester of their college careers, and while it may feel like the semester just started, graduation is approaching fast.
Here are some important steps and resources SUNY Cortland students should know before stepping onto the stage.
Meet with Your Advisor
Students must meet with their academic advisors now through March 1 to confirm their eligibility for graduation.
Apply for Graduation
By March 1, students must apply for graduation through the MyRedDragon website under the Graduation tab.
Order Your Cap and Gown
After applying for commencement, don’t forget to order your cap and gown! This can be ordered at any time via The Campus Store website.
Stay on Track
It is normal to feel overwhelmed during this time, but there are plenty of resources available to stay on track for graduation. Be sure to:
- Contact your advisor.
- Take advantage of open advising hours.
- Keep an eye on your email for any graduation updates.
- Use the MyRedDragon Graduation tab to review the checklist.
