The Hellenic Society provides a welcoming environment for the celebration of Hellenism and the Eastern Orthodox religion. It serves as a gathering place where people of Greek and non-Greek backgrounds can unite to partake in cultural events as well as connect.
While Hellenism has an extensive history, The National Hellenic Museum encapsulates it as, “…rooted in the history of the Greek people, but it is bigger than Greek culture. It is part of humanity’s shared heritage.” Members of the E-Board are passionate about informing anyone interested, about the history and details of Hellenism.
Tassia Tsiavos, President of the Hellenic Society, emphasizes the significance of the club, stating, “The Hellenic club creates a space to gather and celebrate our culture together. It’s really beautiful to have a place to hang out and get to know people.”
Sia Misthos, who holds the position of treasurer within the Hellenic Society, expressed her feelings about being a part of this club, “I am so happy to be a part of this club because it brings me a sense of community for me here, and helps me connect to people who share and take an interest in the same culture as me.”
Whether you’re Greek yourself or simply passionate about exploring different cultures, you’re more than welcome to join.
