After 10 weeks of watching Joey Graziadei, the Bachelor, sifted through 32 women. As of Monday, March 25, it has come to an end and he has chosen ‘the’ girl. The Bachelor/Bachelorette is one of the most-watched reality TV shows, but this season of The Bachelor has caught everyone’s attention.
For those who aren’t familiar with The Bachelor, it’s a reality dating TV show where 32 women essentially fall for the same guy and try to catch his attention and make him fall for her. These women are placed in one villa, but as they become closer to each other, they also become closer to the bachelor causing drama.
There is a new episode every Monday and at the end of every episode there is a rose ceremony where the bachelor chooses two people who he doesn’t feel a connection with to go home. This continues for 10 weeks and at the end of the last episode he proposes to the last girl he chooses.
Over the last 10 weeks, Joey Graziadei has made upsetting decisions for himself and these individual women by sending them home.
This season has gotten a lot of attention, more than usual and that’s all due to the women in this show. This season was very social media-oriented and had created a lot of publicity, some good and some bad. It all started with the Maria and Sydney drama that created “teams”. You were either team Sydney or team Maria.
Maria brought a lot of attention and love to this show and she became one of the favorites of the show. Many people grew to love her and her personality and her connection with Joey, but she was voted off after the hometown episode, leaving 3 girls.
These 3 girls other than Maria were the main focus and heart of the show. The final 3 girls were Daisy, Kelsey, and Rachel. Joey had fallen for these girls all for separate reasons making it hard for him to narrow it down to one girl. As time went on there was panic among these girls because they were also falling but it’s not in their control who he will end up with.
As time went on with these girls his connections grew, but only for Kelsey and Daisy, sadly not for Rachel. In the second to last rose ceremony, the rose ceremony before he proposes he sends Rachel home leaving both Rachel and Joey with tears.
This brings us to the final episode and we get to find out if it’s Daisy or Kelsey. His last episode was filled with emotions and fear. Daisy and Kelsey get to meet Joey’s family and talk to them so his family gets to know who Joey is potentially marrying. Although these went well we can’t say the same for the events that followed. Both girls got their last one-on-one date with Joey but on different levels. The dates were very different and at the end of them, there were doubts.
As time went on and conversion became more real, the doubts intensified. Daisy had made her way to Kelsey’s room and they talked about their dates and the differences and that’s when one of them realized that it was potentially her last date with Joey. Shocking to the crowd watching, the two rode in the car together to the rose ceremony, something that has never been done before in The Bachelor history.
Daisy was first to speak to Joey. However, she knew that she wasn’t going to be his choice, so she had to walk away. Ultimately, doing what was best for both of them. Although Daisy wanted to be with Joey she also loved Kelsey as a friend and wanted to see them thrive as a couple. Daisy then went on to wish Kelsey the best of luck and they shared a special moment where Daisy told Kelsey “I’m sure your mother is looking down on you and she’s so proud of you”. Kelsey then goes on to meet Joey and then he proposes to her.
This season of The Bachelor in my opinion was one of the best seasons because of how kind most of the girls were to each other, and how kind Joey was to the girls. This season was very social media oriented and definitely got a lot of attention through that.
