The free legal name change clinic offers individuals the chance to receive pro bono legal assistance from experts at the Volunteer Lawyers Project of CNY. This event specifically targets those who wish to change their legal names to better reflect their gender identities. Attendees, including students, staff, and faculty, can schedule private appointments to discuss their name change process and complete necessary legal paperwork.
The collaboration stems from a shared commitment to LGBTQ+ equity and access. By joining forces, these organizations aim to broaden their reach and services, ultimately empowering individuals to navigate the legal name change process with support and guidance.
The announcement of the clinic has garnered positive feedback from the local community. People have been eager to sign up and take advantage of this opportunity to change their names legally, reflecting the community’s recognition of the importance of this service.
At the clinic, attendees will receive assistance with legal name changes in New York State. Experienced specialists will guide participants through the intricate process, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and efficiently.
For individuals navigating legal name changes for the first time, rest assured that support systems will be in place to offer guidance and assistance throughout the process. From initial consultations to completion of paperwork, specialists will provide comprehensive support to ensure a smooth and empowering experience for all attendees.
Privacy and confidentiality are important for some individuals undergoing legal name changes. To safeguard participants’ privacy, each person will have a private appointment with a specialist.
