Body Appreciation Week celebrates loving and accepting our bodies just the way they are. It encourages everyone to embrace diversity and feel good about themselves, promoting a positive outlook on body image.
Celebrating Throughout the Week
- On Monday, Feb. 19, they organized “Positive Post-Its” where encouraging messages were placed on bathroom mirrors across campus.
- Tuesday, Feb. 20 featured a “Trash Your Insecurities” event held at Neubig Hall Lobby, where students were encouraged to discard their insecurities.
- Wednesday, Feb. 21 included “Loud in the House of Myself” at Corey Union Exhibition Lounge, featuring a talk by Stacy Pershall, a national speaker from Active Minds, who shared her personal journey of overcoming challenges with depression and eating disorders.
- Thursday, Feb. 22 offered “Chocolate Meditation” at Neubig Hall Lobby, providing a relaxing and indulgent way to practice mindfulness.

- Finally, on Friday, Feb. 23, they organized a “Meditation Honoring Body Appreciation” event, rounding off the week with a focus on inner peace and acceptance.
