It might be a little late in the season, but most places also have food and beverages for sale inside. Apple Cider Donuts are a must during the holiday season. If you haven’t tried them, you need to!
Decorate your house with festive lights on the inside and out. If you celebrate Christmas, help your family set up the Christmas tree! That is always a fun bonding experience and a good time with your family. Plus the inside and outside of your house will look so festive!
You can also stroll through your neighborhood or other brightly decorated areas and admire the decorations.
Go ice skating with your friends. Ice skating is always a fun and engaging experience. It’s sometimes harder than it looks and that bites us in the butt. J.M. McDonald Sports Complex is an ice rink that’s only located 2 miles away from campus. If you can’t wait till you get home, try the rink out here!

I was fortunate enough to ask students around campus their favorite pastime during the holiday season and their answers were very surprising.
Sophomore Michael O’Leary loves the winter months and enjoys the winter weather.
“I love ice skating with my friends this time of year. There’s a rink near my house and it’s one of the best times. I also really enjoy all the Christmas lights. It’s one of my favorite things about the season.”
Sophomore Liam Jordan likes to spend his time surrounded by his family.
“I love cooking with my parents. They always have fun holiday recipes and they are always delicious and we have a great time making them.”
Above all other fun and creative pastimes during the holiday season, it’s most important to spend time with your family, because they don’t see you the whole year round. They also love your company!
