As we get closer to the most fall-coded holiday of the year, we’re all trying to find warm, yet fashionable outfits to wear around the table this year.
When picking out outfits for the holiday, you may want to be mindful of a few different things: the weather, where you will be spending your time, and color coordination.
Choosing an outfit to wear doesn’t have to be expensive either, most of these tips could be found right in your closet! First, choose a pair of pants and work from there. There are so many options when it comes to pants because they can come in so many different styles, fabrics, and colors. A simple option that most of us already have is a pair of jeans (no holes), whether they’re blue jeans, black jeans, or even white. You could also even wear a skirt if the weather is warm enough. Although, if it isn’t warm out, but you insist on wearing a skirt, you may want to add a pair of stockings underneath. This will not only keep you warm but also add a lot to your outfit!
Another comfier option when picking out pants for Thanksgiving could be a pair of black leggings. This is my favorite option, because not only are they extremely comfortable, but they can be dressed up! This is a good option if your Thanksgiving plans consist of football and dinner in your dining room.
When you’re choosing a top, the most common choice would be to go with a comfortable sweater. This could be a plain sweater, one with patterns, or even a sweater vest over a long-sleeved top. This is a perfect way to stay comfortable and stylish at the same time. You could also wear a neutral-colored top such as a body suit, a long sleeve shirt, or even a “dressy” t-shirt. You could pair this top with a stylish jacket as well, such as a leather jacket, or even an oversized flannel for a comfortable and laid-back look.
When choosing which shoes to wear, be mindful of your setting. If you’re going to be somewhere that’s typically cold, you may want to wear a pair of boots or even Uggs (depending on your top and bottom choices). If you’re just staying in the comfort of your own home, maybe just throw on a pair of slippers and call it a day (I know I will be)!
At the end of the day, if you’re comfortable in your outfit, that’s the most important part, even if that means a hoodie and sweatpants. After all, we are going to be eating loads of food, so comfort is key!
