The end of the Fall 2023 semester is approaching at lightning speed, so here are some tips to ensure a smooth final few weeks.
First and foremost, don’t wait until the last minute to turn in your work! I know we all have procrastinated at some point, but with final exams coming up, you do not want a heavy workload. Make sure to check your Brightspace for any missing grades and get those assignments turned in. The week before exams should be spent studying for the exams, not doing all the assignments that you’ve procrastinated until the last minute. Along the same lines, make sure you leave enough time to study. Don’t try to cram all the information the night before exams; it doesn’t work out great. Trust me, I’ve done it before.
Make sure you also check your emails regularly. With the end of the year approaching, make sure you check your email on a regular basis for any important information regarding final exams, late assignments, or any information regarding moving out of your dorms. Along the same lines of moving out of your dorms, make sure to keep up with any information given by your RAs and be sure to attend any dorm meetings that your RAs may hold. I know they may not seem important but trust me they are. For any Freshman or transfer students, the checklist for leaving for the winter break can seem like a lot, so make sure you attend your dorm meetings, and you will be given all the information you need to move out.
Keep a look out for any end of semester events. With final exams approaching fast, it’s nice to get out and have some fun before the hard studying begins. Make sure to check your emails and the school website for any upcoming events like Cortaca happening on 11/11/23. Most importantly, just have fun. I know the end of the semester can be extremely stressful, so it’s good to participate in some stress-free activities before exams.
Another thing coming up is registration. Some of you may have already registered for classes, but for those of you who haven’t registered yet, make sure you know when your registration time is. You can find this under the registration section in the student section in MyRedDragon. Your academic advisor should also send you an email about making an appointment to go over some class recommendations for the Spring semester.
The last couple of weeks of the semester can be a lot, but if you keep up with your work and attend all informational meetings, the end of the semester should go smoothly. With that said, good luck!
