Despite the New York Jets getting off to a slow start, they finally gain momentum after a big win over the Denver Broncos.
The New York Jets have been going through tough times after they lost Aaron Rodgers.
After they defeated the Buffalo Bills during the first game of the season, they took three straight losses to the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, and the defending champions the Kansas City Chiefs behind third-year quarterback Zach Wilson.
Teammates started arguing on the sidelines during games, coaches had to separate the locker room, and it looked as if the team was starting to fall apart.
“Zach Wilson played terribly during his first start as quarterback during the game against Dallas, but he has improved week to week,” said SUNY Cortland student Hunter Anderson.
Coming into week five of the NFL season, all fans expected this game to be a good one. Before the season started, there were words exchanged between former Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett and new Broncos head coach Sean Payton.
The Jets obviously wanted to leave Denver with the W. So, they made sure from the start to the end of the game they played better than they did in the previous three matchups.
The Jets’ defense made a big stop and forced a safety in the middle of the first quarter to make a statement.
At halftime, the Jets went into the locker room with a 13-8 lead. Halfway to their second victory.
In the third quarter, the Jets defense didn’t allow any points. They played well, keeping pressure on QB Russell Wilson. Also, in the third quarterJets running back Breece Hall broke free for a 72-yard touchdown.
They played as a team and showed what they were capable of doing it.
Once the clock hits 0:00 you can see all the smiles coming from the away sideline as both players an coaches celebrated their second win of the season.
As a result, the New York Jets defeated the Denver Broncos 31-21.
“It was nice to see the win. Zach Wilson played a good four quarters of football and hopefully, the team can carry this positive energy into next week’s matchup.”
Next week the Jets host the Philadelphia Eagles.
