With the season less than one month away, an NBA superstars found a new home
NBA All-Star Damian Lillard, had requested a trade early July from the Portland Trail Blazers. Lillard is entering the prime years of his career and wants to go to a contender.
His designated team was to join the Miami Heat with Jimmy Butler and others. All Summer long Pat Riley was trying to get the job done, but nothing was never enough for the TrailBlazers Organization.
For about the last couple of weeks, everyone started asking numerous questions around Lillard starting the NBA season.
Would he report to training camp?
What if he doesn’t get traded to the Miami Heat?
About a week ago, trade rumors started heating up again.
The Toronto Raptors had the best chance to land Lillard. Everyone was shocked.
On Wednesday, September 27, the Blockbuster trade happen. Damien Lillard got traded to the Milwaukee Bucks to play alongside Giannis Antetokoumpo.
The Bucks had traded away Drew Holiday which was a special piece to what they were trying to build in Milwaukee. He got traded to the Portland TrailBlazers.
On the other hand Drew Holiday was not going to stay there for long. As there are many teams that want to compete for a championship they are going to try to get him.
As a result on Sunday, October 1st he got traded to the Boston Celtics. This was a good move by the Celtics. They needed to replace a good defensive guard after they lost Marcus Smart.
As a result both the Bucks and the Celtics both have a good chance to come out of the Eastern Conference and all stay healthy.
