Halloween in the NBA has long been a popular event . Not only are many games scheduled as it is close to the start of the season, but there are some interesting stats and a tradition of exciting basketball being played on October 31st. Following the tradition of great Halloween basketball are also several interesting matchups set to take place this year as well.
As far as winning games goes, no team in NBA history is better at that on Halloween than the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks lead the NBA in Halloween win percentage with approximately 82% of their games resulting in wins. On the flip side, the Washington Wizards come in with the worst win percentage on Halloween with only about 26%. Interestingly enough however is the fact that the Wizards hold the record for biggest victory margin on Halloween, winning a game by 45 points on Halloween of 2002.
When it comes to individual performances, NBA Legend Jerry West has the highest points per game average on Halloween with an impressive 35 points per game. Warriors guard Stephen Curry holds the record for the most points scored on Halloween with 53 in 2015. Surprisingly , Curry also holds the record for the most turnovers in a single Halloween game with 11 turnovers in 2013.
In the assist column, Jason Kidd holds the record for most assists in a single Halloween game with 16 in 1997. Jason Kidd is also one of only two NBA players to record a triple double on Halloween, the other one being Gary Payton. Taking a look at defense, The player with the most blocks recorded in a Halloween game is Shawn Bradley, with 8 blocks in 1997.
There are a plethora of games set to tip off this Halloween as well. The Philadelphia 76ers are set to take on the Washington Wizards. This game will be interesting as the Wizards will try to change their place as the worst team on Halloween.
