Caught in the moving trap,<\/span>
\nA Saturn Ion with no A\/C,<\/span>
\nThree years ago the memory lives,<\/span>
\nWanders through the back room of my mind.<\/span><\/p>\n

The peach air fresheners,\u00a0<\/span>
\nThe roll down windows,<\/span>
\nThe time at the bus stop<\/span>
\nYou wouldn\u2019t get out,<\/span>
\nMade me promise to stay.<\/span><\/p>\n

Times circling the block,\u00a0<\/span>
\nWaiting to pick you up,<\/span>
\nCircling again,\u00a0<\/span>
\nWaiting to drop you off.<\/span><\/p>\n

Love lived and died in that little car,<\/span>
\nLived through a road trip,<\/span>
\nThrough parking lot sex,<\/span>
\nThrough our twenties.<\/span><\/p>\n

It died when you left,<\/span>
\nEven after you left,<\/span>
\nYou stayed in the passenger\u2019s seat for years.<\/span>
\nYour pony tail in the headrest,<\/span>
\nYour lipstick in the cup holder,<\/span>
\nCold and golden like a shotgun shell,<\/span>
\nWhere you sat, years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n
