The leaves are ovate to lanceolate with costas which protrude at the apex of the leaf forming a tooth. There is no noticeable thickened boarder on the margin of the leaves.<br \/>\n<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p>Compared to:<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.cortland.edu\/bryophytes\/field-guide\/mosses\/acrocarp\/fissidens-fontanus\/\">Fissidens fontanus<\/a>\u2013 <\/em>Aquatic, pleurocarpous moss, can be found submerged in the gorge.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.cortland.edu\/bryophytes\/field-guide\/mosses\/acrocarp\/fissidens-bryoides\/\">Fissidens bryoides<\/a>\u2013 <\/em>Mid-rib ends just below the leaf tip and has elongated border cells<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Fissidens taxifolius Hedw.
