Gaz., is one of the more abundant\u00a0mosses present at Hoxie Gorge. The preferred habit of this moss is moist soil in\u00a0shade. The capsules are raised above the leaves in a slightly curved\u00a0fashion. The operculum (lid) of the capsule is long and narrow.
